A highly experienced Consultant Radiographer/Sonographer specialising in Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound for diagnosis and intervention in both the NHS and the private sector.

Alison has 29 years’ experience in the field, where she continues to provide clinical ultrasound services, but also trains and mentors NHS health care professionals and is involved in the development and implementation of local and national evidence-based protocols and guidelines via her involvement with the Professional Standards Group at the British Medical Ultrasound Society.

Alison further has a background of delivering national and international conference sessions as well as acting as a Research Fellow for Keele University to promote the use of ultrasound in MSK research to improve current practice.

Alison is a co-editor and chapter author of ‘How, When and Why of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound’ Elsevier Dec 2021 and co-author of several published papers involving musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided interventions.
