Katie Holland is a highly skilled registered midwife since 2007 with extensive clinical experience, specialising in patient safety and risk management within maternity services. Katie’s career includes significant roles at NHS Trusts, such as Senior Delivery Suite Coordinator and Patient Safety Risk Manager, where she led on complex investigations related to obstetric emergencies, stillbirths, and birth injuries.
Currently, Katie works as a Maternity Investigator for the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch (HSIB) in the South East region. In this role, she forensically investigates and authors detailed reports on maternity cases, including those involving poor neonatal outcomes, intrapartum stillbirths, and maternal deaths. Katie also provides expert witness services, utilising her vast knowledge to support cases within maternity and newborn care.
