Martha McKirdy is a Registered Nurse and Surgical First Assistant who qualified in 1999, with extensive experience in operating theatres across both NHS and private sector settings. She specialises in perioperative care and has worked across a wide range of surgical specialities including orthopaedics, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, vascular, and ear, nose & throat (ENT).

Since 2019, Martha has supported surgical teams in her role as a Surgical First Assistant, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care in both elective and emergency procedures.   Her background also includes training and supervising staff during the national COVID-19 vaccination rollout.

Martha has particular expertise in perioperative nursing, surgical protocols, and intraoperative practice.
